Time is Not a Writer's Bestfriend

So I have been talking about books by other fantastic authors and you are probably wondering "How is Genius' book doing?" ( at least I hope you are :D). So here is an update.... Drum roll please...........
I am done with chapters 4,5 and in the middle of chapter six! Yay, but my book has a long, long, long way to go. I have decided that the book is going to be broken up into 3 parts. That's right ladies and gentlemen, not one, not two, but THREE parts!! I thought this would be best to show the development of my character's relationship. I thing that I have learned: being an American is hard work! And unfortunate all this hard work leaves no time to write! You have people to talk to, places to go.... Sometimes I have just fantastic ideas for my story and I want to stay home and write but......... I can't.
So to end on a happy note, my book and my life are going GREAT!(Even though my character's life may not be)

100 Books Everyone Should Read: #2

#2: Wuthering Heights
Author: Ellis Bell or better known as Emily Brontë
Summary: This guy named Mr. Lockwood is the narrator and narrates the story of his land lord, Heathcliff and the Earnshaws, from the maid Nelly Dean. Ta-da. The End! Just kidding. But there is more.....so basically everyone falls in love with everyone else but everyone doesn't want the other to love the other person, because they secretly love them, but will not admit it. And somewhere in the mix a bunch of people die. It is truly a lovely book. No really it is AMAZING!!! You just have to focus. By the way did I mention that there are two Catherine's. Not One but TWO. One is the mother, Catherine and her daughter is young Catherine. If you miss the young it gets confusing.
Favorite Character: Heathcliff
Why I love this book: This is not just a book, but a piece of art!! The transition from the different generations are carefully sculpted. All the characters have multiple dimensions and layers. I love how Brontë realizes human natures flaw's and accept them in a way that most of us would deny.
Book on Amazon
Author Website: I could not find a website for Emily Brontë. One of the greatest literary writers don't have a website!!! She is probably rolling over in her grave!!! ok maybe I am exaggerating a little bit... So I found the closest thing to a author website as I could.(sniffle..... sniffle)

Leave a comment and tell me what you think of Wuthering Heights or you can just tell me I am awesome.:D

100 Books Everyone Should Read: #1

So I am going to list 100 of my favorite books that I think every person on this earth should read because they are that AMAZING!
So here it goes:
#1: Pride and Prejudice
Author: Jane Austen
This is just one of my favorite books of all time!
Summary: So the book is about the Bennet family and they have 5 daughters: Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, and Lydia. And the point is to find them all husbands. Then Mr.Bingley and Mr. Darcy ( my favorite) come to town. YAY!! All sisters go to ball, Meet the Gentlemen, one daughter falls in love with one of them, then the other gentlemen doesn't like them family cause he is all about wealth, family, and social status. Then the Pride and Prejudice come into play........ and you have to read the rest of the book because I am not doing the book justice and I don't want to spoil it for you.
Favorite Character: Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy
Why I love this book: I just love the way Jane Austen portrays all of the characters and you can't really explain it in words. Jane Austen was such a fantastic writer. It is not just a book, but an experience that you will never forget.

Writing is not always a piece of cake

Mmmmmm, cake sounds good. Anyways I am finished Chapters 1-3 of my rough draft. It is hard because i have to capture the emotion of the characters, make sure my writing sounds like it did in the time period, and make sure almost all of it is historically accurate. Talk about multitasking! So what I think I am going to do is to try to get all the dialog down and all the emotions (it has a lot of ethos in it) first and then go back through the whole book and change the dialog to make sure it is sounds accurate for the time period and then go back and make everything historically accurate. So what do you think? Post a comment if you have any suggestions.

Mini Excerpt 1

So this is the start of my mini excerpts:

"Because I am the one no one talks about"

Hello!

Welcome to my blog, The Journey to Writing a Book. So that is exactly what I will be doing. I am writing a historical fiction romance. I will try to update what I will be doing, what chapter I am on or what stage I am in the writing process. I will also be posting mini excerpts from my book. Enjoy!
